Changes

Not that I have 100000 hits a second, but I’m going to be making changes and such to the photo gallery and movie theater.  Stay in touch.

8031

I’ve been on this Earth for 8,031 days.  I have:

Learned something about life

Learned something about love

Found friends

Lost friends

Been right

Been wrong

Sinned

Been forgiven

Sinned some more

Been forgiven, again… (ad nausium)

Decided I want to listen to the little voice inside my heart more than the rather loud voice in other parts of the body

Had arguments with myself… and lost

Figured the Bible is a read-only document (aka, I can’t edit it to fit my lifestyle, but to do the opposite)

Learned that Red vs. Blue is vulgar, rude, inappropriate, and the funniest thing I’ve ever heard

Found those friends who are amazing… even if they suck at times, and I would never get rid of them

Found those friends who are amazing… and incapable of sucking

Given a lot of decision making into the Hands of God, because I am not very good at making those decisions

SDUB….  need I say more? The Ghost of Southwind lives forever….

Been shown the power of the media, and I will harness its energy and use it to fight evil!!!  GOOOOO JOE!!!!!

Learned so many things, but the #1 thing I have figured is The Meaning of Life:  Glorify God in all you do

8,031 days down… Who knows how many more?  Let’s do it.

Thus far…

If I kept track of every petty argument I got into, I wouldn’t have any friends

If I demanded perfection out of everyone, I would sorely disappointed

If I kept tabs on who owed me what, I wouldn’t be thought so fond of

If I knew I’d fail, I wouldn’t try

If I knew I’d win, I woudn’t try as hard

If I thought the world hated me, I’d give up

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that if I forgot that Someone loved me, I’d have no hope

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, so that whoever believed in Him shall not perish, but have ETERNAL LIFE

Movie Theater

I have added a new feature to my web site called "Movie Theater."  I designed it myself… using a template from iWeb.  I was getting tired of not knowing how to upload to my new Gallery and so I broke down and used this thing instead.  I kind of like it.

The page is different from the rest of the site because I can’t edit every feature of it like my home page.  For the functionality of it, I don’t care. You can see the button for it up next to the newly named "Picture Gallery" since the only content inside are PICTURES!  I try to make your life simple.  Please bear with me, I’ll be updating the page very regularly for a while, and the only way I’ve found to do that to make it work is to delete it’s directory, and upload the newest version.  But, hopefully this will become quicker as well as easier as I learn more about it.

There are 4 videos up there now, the same from my Facebook page, but those who don’t have facebook can’t see them here.  I’m also working on making them larger to view.  Right now they’re fixed at this size, but I can resize them in iWeb.

You’ll need Quicktime to view these.  I recommend you install the FREE Quicktime Plugin for Firefox.  And, if you’re not using Firefox not only should you install it, but you should also wake up.  Serious.

Alright, that’s all for now!

P.S.  I’ll be posting to that page more than I’ll post to Facebook for anyone who thinks they can get away with it.

the iMac

And so begins the new era of my technological experience.  I have broken the boundaries of Operating System prejudice and have purchased myself a new iMac.  ALEX!  Why on EARTH would you do that?  Well, I’ll tell.  Even now as I type this, I’m still in Windows XP.  In fact, I operate a lot out of XP, because most of my applications that I use day-to-day exist in XP.  My Mac is partitioned, meaning it has "2" hard drives that allow for 2 operating systems to run.  Now, I do have software that allows me to operate both symultaneously, but I prefer to simply reboot from one to the next.  Quite ingenious actually.

Pretty soon I will obtain Final Cut along with other useful Mac applications that will basically allow me to take over the world.  I will have to take a picture soon of the Windows load screen with my Apple logo right under it on the computer.  Pretty sweet stuff, if I do say so myself ;)  Anyways, there’s the deal.

Also, as an added bonus, my iMac has the little iSight (yes, the i’s annoy me too) camera which works for AIM and (sigh) iChat.  So if you ever want to see my pretty face, let me know ;)

But, in the words of SDUB…  Sorry Boston, but we gots to go… PEACE!

A quick observation

While enjoying my first day off, I have realized Toon Disney was playing Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers… and not just any episode, but the Risky Beesness!  Where this crazy girl captures a hive of bees to brain wash people.  It’s amazing!  Just a quick observation!

The End of 2007

Well, it’s been an interesting year, hasn’t it?

Won my first film award
Got 3 semesters of Dean’s List
Aged out of Southwind, making amazing friends I never want to leave
Helped Gallatin County for the THIRD year now
Completed one of the hardest semesters of my life
Did a fun little news video for Brian

I just bought myself a new
iMac, which should be getting here next week about Tuesday.  Quite exciting way to end the year.  I have a concert coming up Saturday (today) and Sunday both at 7:00pm at Lakeside.  I have a meeting with Brian Wells about a new production company that I might be working with.  Strong on Christian values too, to add to their awesomeness.  I’ll be getting a part-time job soon, just to add to my pocket book.

I’ve been trying to think of "regrets" from the year.  I can’t really think of anything.  Perhaps a little more of this, a little less of that, and some more shaking of the butt.  But that’s more chicken-dance-esque.  Either way, I’m here now, in fine health and wealth of friends and family.  We’re coming up on the fourth Christmas/New Year’s without that special someone, and I’m only a little upset.  Yeah, it’d be nice to have someone to hold, share some hot chocolate, maybe even go do holiday cheer, but I haven’t died any of the past years.  So I’m sure I’ll be just great this year.  I’m looking forward to the family coming over, Gwen is getting so big, walking and trying to talk.  She knows "bye bye" really well.  I’ll have to teach her you can’t say "bye bye" without "I love you." But, that’s another lesson.

Project CoI is coming soon… as is graduation!

Final Push

So we’re on the final stretch for the semester in 2007.  The end of the year, the end of a major portion of our lives.  What a year it was.  Some life changing events, some life improving, and just some life in general.  Like all semesters, our professors have forgotten to assign anything in the beginning of the semester and now they are dumping all million assignments on us to make the grades make sense. Amazing.

While I have some not-so-fun projects to do, Brian’s got a news video coming my way which should be fun.

Contribute TEST

So, I’m Testing to see if this new program I have can really do what it says… as easy as it says.  Right now I’m using Adobe Contribute to write this instead of logging into my normal way.  Apparently I can just insert a picutre here:

And viola!  It appears!  Nifty…

So, right now I’m looking at this thing without any of the formatting of my site (it’s all white and shtuff).  So I’m going to stop here and see what else this thing does.  Coo el!

Media Gallery Change

I have implemented a password protection on any albums containing baby Gwen.  Due to the sick nature of our society, I’m not allowing images of my darling niece out into the general public.  Now, how do you, the non-sick people, get access to seeing those adorable pictures?  Well, there’s a login tab at the top of the page in the media gallery.  When you click, there’s a username and password.  So, what’s the username and password?  Email me (jazzman777@gmail.com) and find out!  Thanks a bunch!!!!!  And you’re welcome mommy and daddy… and Gwen.
